Samsung seems to have done their homework on their Samsung CLP 510n printer using Samsung CLP 510n toner. It is impossible to cater for all tastes and requirements, but if you have an office and want a fast, reliable and high quality printer at a great price, at $120 this is a great option. The printer is targeted at small to large business offices that want a great printer at a low price. This version is a rework of the CLP 510s with improvements on the chip, rate of pages per minute printing, both mono and color and some small hardware updates.

The first point to make is that this printer is aimed at businesses. I will cover pretty much all the needs of the busiest office, although you just might want to buy one or two more if your office is particularly busy. With this baby you will not have to get professional prints, except for your holiday snapshots and very special projects.

This machine will meet all your expectations and more as long as you are not expecting Kodak picture perfect quality.  It does not do that, but you simply would not expect it in an office color laser printer anyway. Having said that, the quality is great for anything but the most demanding projects.

So what’s new in this version of the Samsungs CLP 510n printer? Not much, except higher speed, both in the printing and processing sides of the equation. The older model printed 21 pages a minute, now you can print 25; color printing was at 5 pages a minute while now it is 7. This is a considerable improvement on an already quick printer. A great feature of this printer is its duplexing capabilities. This term refers to the capability of double-sided printing without the user having to do anything. Just tell the printer what you want and it will take care of everything. Previous models required the user to stack the pages, turn them round and reinsert them in the feeder. This capability will save you cash in toner, paper usage and time.

The other big change from the previous models is its chip. The PowerPC processor of previous models has been changed to a Samsung SPGPm processor. However, the previous models could hold nearly twice the amount of RAM and were one decibel quieter. The change in the price tag had to be felt somewhere I guess. It is worth remembering that this printer only costs $120.

Image resolution is very good, however, this is not a photo lab printer and your pictures will not look exactly like photographs.  Don‘t worry though, they are more than adequate to put on your fridge and share with friends.

The cost of the printer is higher than what many are used to paying for a printer. This is because it is an office printer, and for a color laser printer it is actually cheap. Toner consumables are inexpensive compared to other printers, with color and mono going for around $120 and $100 respectively.

Samsung seems to have a great combination with the CLP 510n printer. It is very affordable, as office color laser printers go, the image quality is excellent and so is the speed. Businesses with this baby in their office should not have to spend much money at the printers unless they need a special job. The only disadvantage is that the quality of the printing and the colors are not the picture perfect quality we are used to from some specialized photo printers.  Unless your business is printing pictures this is not going to be a problem. All in all, for price, speed and quality this printer is a great buy.

Everything else printed is perfect, however, largely due to the Samsung CLP 510N compatible toner used by this machine.  Samsung Laser Toner always tops the charts in performance.  Great cartridges shows on the printed page and that is a large part of the face of your business.
